Bryce Harper Lands on 10-Day Injured List Due to Wrist Inflammation

Jun 07 2025

Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Bryce Harper will miss at least 10 days due to right wrist inflammation, as confirmed by team President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski on Saturday. Harper's absence was first noted during Friday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates, where he did not participate.

This latest setback follows a previous elbow injury that sidelined Harper after he was hit by a pitch in a game against the Atlanta Braves on May 27. He had just returned to action a week later for a series against the Toronto Blue Jays, marking a significant moment in his season.

Currently, Harper boasts a batting average of .258 and an OPS of .814 for the 2025 season. His placement on the injured list is retroactive to June 6, meaning he will be eligible to return shortly after the 10-day period concludes.

In response to Harper's injury, the Phillies have called up infielder Otto Kemp from the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs. Kemp, who has been impressive in the minors with a .313 batting average and 14 home runs over 48 games, may make his major league debut soon.

Additionally, the team has promoted right-handed relief pitcher Daniel Robert from Lehigh Valley while sending down righty reliever Alan Rangel, indicating a strategic shift in their bullpen as they navigate this challenging period.

As the Phillies adjust their roster, fans will be watching closely to see how these changes impact their performance in the coming games.
