Caitlin Clark Hopes Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Enjoy Their Break
Indiana Fever player Caitlin Clark, who knows the pressures of fame, expressed her hopes that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are relishing their time away from public scrutiny.
Both 35, Swift and Kelce have stepped back from the limelight, and Clark, the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year, is optimistic they might catch a Fever game this season.
“I feel like they’re also living — they’re in vacation mode right now,” Clark, 23, shared with USA Today on May 21. “So I hope they enjoy a nice little break out of the spotlight. But I’m sure they’ll be cheering for the Fever either way.”
Clark’s friendship with Swift blossomed last year when she attended two of the pop star’s Eras Tour concerts in Indianapolis. The Fever guard enjoyed the shows from Swift’s private suite at Lucas Oil Stadium, alongside Kelce and Swift’s mother, Andrea.
After the concerts, Swift surprised Clark with Eras Tour merchandise and a note expressing her desire to attend a Fever game. Additionally, she invited Clark to one of Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs games, which Clark accepted during the 2024 NFL Playoffs.
At Arrowhead Stadium, Clark celebrated the Chiefs’ AFC Championship victory in a private suite with Swift, as cameras captured their excitement following a touchdown by Kelce.

On a January 2025 episode of the “New Heights” podcast hosted by Travis and Jason Kelce, Clark revealed her genuine enthusiasm during the game. “I’m a midwest kid,” she explained. “I had family in Kansas City and I grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, which is only three hours from Kansas City, so that’s the closest NFL team. My dad was a big Chiefs fan growing up. People think I’m a bandwagon Chiefs fan and I’m like, ‘No! I was there before! Before Patrick [Mahomes] and Travis. We were ride or dies.’”
As Swift and Kelce enjoy their time together, Clark is gearing up for an exciting season with the Fever. Her popularity continues to soar, prompting teammate Sophie Cunningham to draw comparisons between Clark and Swift.
Cunningham, 28, humorously remarked during a February appearance on the “Sports and SHEnanigans” podcast that if Clark is the WNBA’s version of Swift, then she could be likened to Sabrina Carpenter. “It really was a joke,” she clarified to Us Weekly in March. “I think that Taylor Swift has helped Sabrina Carpenter so much, and I think that Caitlin Clark has helped not only her teammates but our whole league, our whole sport in general, not only here in America but around the world.”
