On Tuesday night, the Dallas Wings showcased their resilience, defeating the Golden State Valkyries 80-71 in their first home game of the 2025 season. Paige Bueckers led the charge with 20 points, while Arike Ogunbowale contributed 19 points, six assists, and three steals.
This victory ended a seven-game losing streak for Dallas (2-11), their first win since a commanding 109-87 triumph over Connecticut on May 27.
With just over four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, Bueckers executed a jumper from the free-throw line, followed by Ogunbowale's long-range three-pointer, pushing the Wings ahead 75-70.
Ogunbowale's defensive prowess was evident as she intercepted a pass and converted a fast-break layup, sealing the game with 14.8 seconds left on the clock.
Kaila Charles also made her mark, adding 10 points and three steals to the Wings' efforts.
For Golden State (6-5), Monique Billings stood out with a season-high 18 points. Kayla Thornton supported with 17 points, while Laeticia Amihere and Tiffany Hayes contributed 14 and 10 points, respectively.
The Wings' defense was particularly effective in the first quarter, limiting Golden State to just 16 points—the lowest allowed by Dallas in any opening frame this season.
