Florida Panthers Championship Parade Set for Sunday in Fort Lauderdale

Jun 20 2025

Fort Lauderdale gears up for a vibrant celebration as the Florida Panthers prepare for their second consecutive Stanley Cup championship parade this Sunday. City officials and enthusiastic fans are sharing essential tips to ensure a smooth experience during the festivities.

With an influx of attendees anticipated, transportation and parking logistics are crucial for those planning to attend the beachside event.

The parade kicks off at noon on A1A, starting at Riomar Street and proceeding south to Southeast 5th Street, where a rally will take place on a specially constructed stage. Preparations are already underway, with barricades being erected and the stage taking shape along the shoreline.

"The Elbo Room all the way down the beach. It's gonna be amazing," expressed Rich Rodriguez, who participated in last year's celebration.

Rodriguez, alongside his friend Alex Guzman, reflected on the 2023 event as a unique experience that provided valuable insights for this year's planning.

"If you're driving here, you're just gonna get stuck somewhere," Rodriguez cautioned.

The City of Fort Lauderdale has announced that 26 nearby parking garages will be accessible for the event, though attendees should be prepared for varying walking distances to the venue, which could range from five minutes to over an hour.

"Parking is gonna be difficult. So make sure you use ride share or carpool. Water taxi will be available," advised Mayor Dean Trantalis.

Rodriguez and Guzman chose the water taxi last year, deeming it the best option.

"It's well worth it. You don't have to drive. If you're drinking you don't have to worry about anything like that. The traffic. You can see there are two lanes on the road and it's gonna be really really crowded," Rodriguez noted.

He added that arriving at the water taxi about three and a half hours before the parade's start was key to their experience.

"Last time we got here at about 8:30 and there were already hundreds of thousands of people here. And it was stormy," he recalled.

Fort Lauderdale police have confirmed that there are no known threats to the event. Officials emphasized that it will be "all hands on deck," with nearly every officer not on vacation set to work during Sundayโ€™s parade.
