Golden Globes Snubs 'New Heights' Podcast by Kelce Brothers

Oct 03 2025

Travis and Jason Kelce will not be adding “Golden Globe nominees” to their accolades next year. Their podcast, “New Heights,” was notably absent from the longlist of 25 podcasts vying for the inaugural Best Podcast award at the Golden Globes.

Released on October 2, the list features popular shows such as “Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard,” “Call Her Daddy,” and “The Joe Rogan Experience.” Other notable mentions include “The Megyn Kelly Show” and “This Past Weekend w/ Theo Von.”

Helen Hoehne, president of the Golden Globes, remarked on the significance of this new category, stating, “This year’s inaugural list of eligible programs reflects the incredible depth, diversity, and creativity thriving in the podcasting world today.” She emphasized that the list showcases the power of podcasting to inform and entertain audiences globally.

The selection process was conducted by Luminate, the Golden Globes’ data partner, recognized as a leading authority in audio analytics. Despite their absence from this prestigious list, the Kelce brothers have enjoyed a record-breaking year with their podcast.

In August, when Travis’ fiancée, Taylor Swift, made a guest appearance on “New Heights,” the episode set a Guinness World Record for the most concurrent views for a podcast on YouTube, reaching 1.3 million viewers.

“New Heights” consistently ranks among the top 10 sports podcasts on Apple Podcasts and has featured high-profile guests like Leonardo DiCaprio and Adam Sandler. The podcast's popularity continues to grow, yet it remains overlooked by the Golden Globes.

The complete longlist for Best Podcast also includes “20/20 (from ABC News),” “Crime Junkie,” and “The Daily (from The New York Times).” The winner will be announced at the 83rd Golden Globes ceremony scheduled for January 11, 2026.

In August 2024, “New Heights” secured a nine-figure deal with podcast studio Wondery. This agreement encompasses global distribution rights, ad-sales representation, and rights to past episodes, along with plans for international adaptations.

Travis and Jason expressed their enthusiasm about partnering with Wondery, stating, “We couldn’t be more excited to team up with Wondery for the next phase of ‘New Heights.’ We love this show and the fanbase that has grown with us over the last two seasons.”

Wondery CEO Jen Sargent noted her long-standing relationship with the Kelce brothers and highlighted sports as a strategic priority for both Wondery and Amazon. She stated, “Sports is a really exciting category for podcast listeners. There were a lot of reasons to think about joining forces here on the ‘New Heights’ podcast.”
