The boxing match between Jake Paul and Gervonta "Tank" Davis, set for November 14, 2025, at Miami's Kaseya Center, has been officially canceled.
Just ten days before the event, Netflix and Most Valuable Promotions announced the cancellation, citing Davis's legal issues stemming from a civil lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend, Courtney Rossel.
Rossel's lawsuit accuses Davis of serious offenses including battery and kidnapping, claiming a history of domestic violence during their five-month relationship. Allegations include physical assaults at her workplace, a Miami gentlemen's club, and threats to her life.

“Our team has worked closely with all parties to navigate this situation responsibly,” stated Nakisa Bidarian, CEO of Most Valuable Promotions, on November 3, 2025.
Despite the cancellation, Bidarian confirmed that plans for Jake Paul to headline an event on Netflix in 2025 remain intact. “Details regarding a new date, location, Jake’s opponent, and additional bouts will be shared as soon as they are finalized,” the statement read. Ticket refunds for the canceled fight will be processed through Ticketmaster within 14 to 21 days.
On November 1, MVP had already initiated an investigation into the allegations against Davis, emphasizing their commitment to addressing the situation with care. “We unequivocally condemn any form of violence,” they stated.
Calvin Ford, Davis's trainer, dismissed the lawsuit as “nonsense,” expressing a desire to understand its origins. “He’s doing great. Everything’s good,” Ford remarked about Davis.
Following the announcement of the fight's cancellation, Paul took to social media with a pointed critique of Davis. “Gervonta Davis is an actual walking human piece of garbage,” he posted. He described working with Davis as “an absolute nightmare,” citing unprofessional behavior and multiple legal troubles.
Paul expressed regret over the impact on others involved in the fight, particularly the undercard fighters and his team at MVP. “I didn’t want to give this woman abuser a platform to grow his fans and bank account,” he stated. “It’s scary that devilish men like this can rise to the top of culture and sports.”

He concluded with a call for fans to look beyond superficial appearances and seek deeper values in their idols. “As for me it’s on to the next one as always. Anyone. Anytime. Any place,” he added.
