Napheesa Collier Earns Western Conference Player of the Month Honors
Minnesota Lynx forward Napheesa Collier has been a driving force behind her team's perfect start to the season, showcasing her skills and determination on the court.
On Wednesday, the WNBA recognized her efforts by naming her the Western Conference Player of the Month for May.
Collier's impressive statistics speak volumes: she averaged 26.8 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3 assists, 2.4 steals, and 1.4 blocks across five games, contributing significantly to the Lynx's unbeaten record.
Currently, she leads the league with an average of 25.1 points per game and holds the top spot in win shares at 2.0. The Lynx's 8-0 record marks their best start since clinching the WNBA Finals title in 2017.
This accolade adds to Collier's growing list of achievements this season; she previously earned the Western Conference Player of the Week award after her first four games.
Last year, Collier was named to the All-WNBA First Team and received the Defensive Player of the Year award during a challenging season that saw the Lynx reach the WNBA Finals. Additionally, she secured a gold medal with Team USA at the Summer Olympics.
Her offseason was equally fruitful, as she was named MVP of Unrivaled, a 3-on-3 basketball league she co-founded, and TIME magazine recognized her as one of its 100 Most Influential People.
