Ohe Brothers: A Dynamic Duo on the Edina Golf Course

Jun 02 2025

Grab a club and hit the links; that’s the daily routine for Torger and Sander Ohe, two brothers who have forged a strong bond through golf.

"As he improved, he grew taller while I was still pretty small," Sander Ohe, a junior at Edina High School, reflected. "Catching up has been a journey... I'm still a bit behind, but it’s been really fun." The camaraderie they share is palpable, cultivated over countless rounds on the course.

Last year, when Torger clinched the state title as a junior, Sander was right there, celebrating his brother's achievement. "It wasn’t as emotional for me as it was for my parents, but I was really excited," Sander recalled. "I felt nervous but had a blast." Their shared experiences have only deepened their connection.

Recently, Torger Ohe made headlines by committing to play college golf at the University of Minnesota. He also successfully navigated the first round of qualifying for this year's U.S. Open, solidifying his status as one of the top high school players in Minnesota.

"COVID was a blessing in disguise for my game," Torger noted. "It gave me ample time to practice and improve. That’s when I realized I could potentially play at the collegiate level; it became one of my goals." His dedication is evident in his performance.

Sander is not far behind in the rankings either. The brothers share similar playing styles and often engage in friendly banter about their games. "In the past, Torger has definitely outdriven me with his driver," Sander chuckled. "But I’m catching up a bit... he likes to think otherwise." Their playful rivalry adds an extra layer of enjoyment to their time on the course.

Ultimately, both brothers recognize each other's strengths and weaknesses. "Torger has a better short game than I do, so I need to work on that," Sander admitted. "But competing with him is just so much fun. He’s my best friend, and spending time together is what it’s all about."
