Trump Misspells Crush's Name in Truth Social Rant

Aug 04 2025

Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Monday, inadvertently misspelling the name of his latest crush, Sydney Sweeney, in a post that blended admiration with a critique of several brands. The former president's message, which also included a disparaging remark about Taylor Swift, quickly drew attention for its chaotic tone.

In a post that resembled a stream of consciousness, Trump referred to Sweeney as “Sidney” before correcting the error in a subsequent upload. “Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the ‘HOTTEST’ ad out there. It’s for American Eagle, and the jeans are ‘flying off the shelves.’ Go get ‘em Sydney!” he wrote, showcasing his enthusiasm for the actress and her recent campaign.

His connection to American Eagle is notable; the Schottenstein family, who owns the brand, has maintained a friendly relationship with Trump. Following his post, American Eagle Outfitters Inc. saw a significant stock increase of 17.67 percent, reflecting the immediate impact of his endorsement.

Trump expressed his newfound admiration for Sweeney after learning about her political affiliation. “She’s a registered Republican? Now I love her ad,” he remarked to reporters, revealing his surprise at the number of Republicans in Hollywood. This sentiment echoed similar praise from political figures like Sen. Ted Cruz and Vice President JD Vance.

However, Trump's post did not stop at Sweeney. He criticized Jaguar for what he deemed a “stupid, and seriously WOKE advertisement,” linking it to the company's recent turmoil following the resignation of CEO Adrian Mardell. The ad, which featured androgynous models and bold slogans, had sparked controversy and backlash on social media.

“Who wants to buy a Jaguar after looking at that disgraceful ad?” Trump questioned, highlighting the disconnect between corporate branding and consumer sentiment. The automaker's rebranding effort had been met with skepticism, particularly after its slogan “Copy Nothing” failed to resonate with audiences.

Shifting gears, Trump then turned his attention to Budweiser, drawing parallels between its marketing decisions and those of Jaguar. He mistakenly conflated Bud Light with Miller Lite while referencing the backlash against Budweiser's partnership with transgender model Dylan Mulvaney. “The market cap destruction has been unprecedented, with BILLIONS OF DOLLARS SO FOOLISHLY LOST,” he declared.

In a further digression, Trump linked his disdain for Swift to her perceived political stance. “Or just look at Woke singer Taylor Swift. Ever since I alerted the world as to what she was by saying on TRUTH that I can’t stand her (HATE!),” he ranted, recalling his previous criticisms of the pop star.

He concluded with a sweeping statement about the changing tides in public opinion: “The tide has seriously turned — Being WOKE is for losers, being Republican is what you want to be. Thank you for your attention to this matter!" His remarks encapsulated a blend of celebrity admiration and political commentary that has become characteristic of his social media presence.
