2025 Detroit Grand Prix Set to Rev Up Downtown

May 30 2025

The streets of downtown Detroit will come alive as the 2025 Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix presented by Lear kicks off on Friday, May 30. This three-day motorsport extravaganza runs through June 1, showcasing the 35th edition of the NTT IndyCar Series Detroit Grand Prix.

May 30 marks Comerica Bank Free Prix Day, where fans can enjoy practice sessions for the NTT IndyCar Series, INDY NXT, and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. The excitement builds as the weekend progresses.

On May 31, the action heats up with qualifying rounds: INDY NXT drivers hit the track at 11:30 a.m., followed by IndyCar Series drivers at 12:20 p.m. The day culminates with the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Chevrolet Detroit Sports Car Classic, scheduled for 3:40 p.m.

Race day on June 1 begins with the INDY NXT race at 10:30 a.m., leading up to the highly anticipated NTT IndyCar Series Detroit Grand Prix, which is set to start at 12:47 p.m. Each day, admission gates will open at 8 a.m., allowing fans ample time to soak in the atmosphere.

For those looking to secure their spot, tickets for reserved seating, rooftop viewing, and exclusive experiences like the Turn 3 Club and pit lane suites are available for purchase. However, public parking will not be accessible at several key garages during race weekend, including Millender Garage and Center Garage.

Alternative parking options can be found throughout Downtown Detroit, with various surface lots and structures ready to accommodate visitors. Spectators can also utilize multiple transportation methods such as the Detroit People Mover, Qline, and ride-share services, ensuring easy access to the event.

As Saturday's racing concludes, fans can transition from the track to the Cadillac Square Entertainment Stage for a night of electronic dance music. Two concerts will take place on May 31, featuring American singer Evan Giia at 6:15 p.m., followed by renowned producer and DJ Gryffin.

It’s important to note that concert tickets must be purchased separately; a race event ticket does not grant entry to the performances. Joe Buczek, who manages digital content and promotion at CBS Detroit, emphasizes the significance of this event for both motorsport enthusiasts and music lovers alike.

With a blend of high-speed racing and vibrant entertainment, the 2025 Detroit Grand Prix promises an unforgettable experience for all attendees.
