Florida Panthers' Championship Parade Set to Draw Huge Crowds

Jun 21 2025

Fort Lauderdale Beach will transform into a sea of excitement this Sunday as thousands gather to honor the Florida Panthers, back-to-back Stanley Cup champions. The anticipation is palpable, with local businesses and fans making final preparations for what promises to be a memorable celebration.

Brian Broeckelmann, a local fan, missed last year's parade due to work commitments. "I actually had to work," he explained, but this year he is determined not to miss out. He is picking up last-minute Panthers gear for his family at Sinbad Sports. Reflecting on the team's success, he remarked, "Yeah, except this team is pretty special," indicating that he believes this championship run is no fluke.

Sinbad Elhaddad, the store owner, has ramped up inventory in anticipation of the larger crowd. "Sales have increased by about 30% since the championships," he noted, adding that demand for last year's gear remains high. "Now they're gonna be asking for back-to-back," he said, highlighting the excitement surrounding the team's continued success.

City officials are advising attendees to consider ride-share services due to potential traffic congestion. While a map detailing 26 open parking garages is available, many spots could require a walk of up to an hour. To avoid the hassle, the water taxi service presents a convenient alternative.

Greg Farley, president of Fort Lauderdale Water Taxi, confirmed that all 15 boats will be operational from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., accommodating up to 1,200 passengers. "It will be $15 all day," he stated, explaining that passengers will receive wristbands allowing unlimited boarding throughout the day.

As preparations continue along State Road A1A, barricades are in place and stages are being constructed for the festivities. Joe Donovan and his wife, visiting from Boston, are excited to witness the parade from their hotel located right on the route. "We've been to championship parades before in Boston, but we've never been to one on the beach," Donovan shared, emphasizing the unique experience awaiting them.

The atmosphere is charged with enthusiasm as Fort Lauderdale gears up for a day of celebration, camaraderie, and pride in their championship team.
