Jason Kelce Displays Impressive Weight Loss and Athleticism at Eagles Practice
Jason Kelce, the former Philadelphia Eagles center, demonstrated significant weight loss and athletic prowess during a recent practice session, though he acknowledged that he is not yet in peak NFL condition.
In a video shared by the Eagles on October 15, the 37-year-old Kelce appeared noticeably leaner as he attempted to reconnect with his football roots. “This is where I wonder if my coordination is still here,” he remarked before diving into footwork drills at the team’s facility.
Despite retiring from professional football in March 2024 after a celebrated 13-season career, Kelce tackled the drills with surprising agility. “No joke, I used to be very, very good at that,” he stated, reflecting on his past performance. “I mean, I was still pretty quick. The coordination used to be much better. I haven’t done it in over a year. So, first time in over a year, it wasn’t that terrible.”
Kelce then set out to match his fastest recorded speed of 19.2 miles per hour from his playing days. “Running is just a controlled fall,” he shouted, emphasizing his competitive spirit. After completing a sprint, he was pleasantly surprised to see a top speed of 19.64 miles per hour on the speedometer.

“Are you f***ing kidding me?” he exclaimed with laughter. “Let’s go!” Following another sprint, he achieved a new personal best of 19.72 miles per hour. “I’ll take it,” he said, slightly out of breath. “We’re not going to get 20 [miles per hour].”
However, the weight room presented a different challenge for Kelce. Reflecting on his past strength training, he noted, “In season, a number that I would routinely try and hit once every month or once every two months, I would try and hit 500 pounds.” Yet when faced with 505 pounds this time, he struggled to complete even one squat.
In June 2024, Kelce disclosed that he was actively working on shedding more weight from his NFL days. “Right now, I’m about 277. I’m almost 20 pounds down right now,” he told GQ. “It’s hard to imagine another nearly 20 pounds coming off, being honest with you. But my back already feels better. My knees already feel better. So another 20 pounds hopefully will make that much more adept at playing with my children.” Since then, Jason and his wife Kylie welcomed their fourth daughter, Finnley “Finn,” in March. The couple also has three other daughters: Wyatt, 6; Ellie, 4; and Bennett, 2.
