Paige Bueckers Out for Saturday's Game Due to Knee Injury

Jun 28 2025

DALLAS - The Dallas Wings announced that rookie sensation Paige Bueckers will not participate in Saturday's home game against the Washington Mystics due to a right knee issue.

Details surrounding the injury remain unclear, as Bueckers appeared on the team's game status report shortly before the matchup. This news follows her impressive performance just a day prior, where she scored 27 points and contributed six assists in nearly 36 and a half minutes during the Wings' 94-86 defeat to the Indiana Fever.

This marks the fifth game Bueckers has missed this season. Previously, she was sidelined for three games while under the WNBA's concussion protocol and missed another game due to illness upon her return.

In her 13 appearances this season, Bueckers has averaged 18.4 points, 5.8 assists, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.8 steals, showcasing her potential as a top draft pick.

Meanwhile, Caitlin Clark, who earned last year's WNBA Rookie of the Year title, also missed Friday's game for the Fever due to a left groin injury. This absence prevented a highly anticipated matchup between the two former No. 1 draft picks, although the American Airlines Center still drew a near-capacity crowd of 20,000 fans.

The Wings will host the Mystics at College Park Center on the UT-Arlington campus, which accommodates 6,251 spectators, located approximately 20 miles from the AAC in downtown Dallas.
