Phillies Secure 4-2 Victory Over Marlins

Bryson Stott launched a three-run homer, propelling the Philadelphia Phillies to a 4-2 victory over the Miami Marlins on Wednesday night. The game showcased not only Stott's power but also Ranger Suárez's impressive pitching performance.

Suárez (6-1) delivered seven solid innings, allowing just one run and four hits. His strikeout count reached eight, complemented by two walks, marking another strong outing since returning from a back injury that sidelined him earlier in the season.

Since his rocky debut on May 4, where he surrendered seven runs, the veteran left-hander has been nearly untouchable, yielding only eight runs across his subsequent starts.

The pivotal moment came in the fourth inning when Stott capped a four-run rally against Adam Mazur (0-1) with his fifth home run of the season. J.T. Realmuto contributed with an RBI single prior to Stott's first-pitch fastball that soared deep into center field.

Making his Marlins debut, Mazur struck out five batters and allowed five hits over 5 2/3 innings after being recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville.

In a late-game push, the Marlins narrowed the gap to 4-2 in the ninth inning with Dane Myers' one-out RBI single. With a runner in scoring position, Matt Strahm responded by striking out Connor Norby and inducing a flyout from Nick Fortes, securing his fourth save.

Alec Bohm had a notable night for Philadelphia, recording two singles and a double, marking his second multihit game of the series and sixth in his last nine outings.

Nick Castellanos returned to the lineup after being benched for an inappropriate comment made during Monday's game. He made an impact with a double and a single.

Norby managed to hit a solo home run off Suárez in the fifth inning, sending the ball 415 feet to center field, bringing the score to 4-1.

In the ninth inning, Jack Winkler celebrated his first major league hit against Strahm.

Stott has consistently pitched six or more innings in each of his eight starts since that challenging debut against Arizona.

Looking ahead, LHP Christopher Sánchez (5-2, 3.05 ERA) is set to take the mound for the Phillies on Thursday, facing off against Marlins RHP Edward Cabrera (2-2, 4.10 ERA).
