Royals Secure 2-0 Victory Over Twins with Strong Pitching

Aug 10 2025

Noah Cameron, alongside four relievers, delivered a stellar performance, allowing just eight hits as the Kansas City Royals defeated the Minnesota Twins 2-0 on Saturday night. Mikel Garcia contributed significantly with two hits and an RBI, showcasing his offensive prowess.

Cameron (6-5) took the mound for 5 2/3 innings, surrendering six hits while striking out four batters. In a decisive ninth inning, Carlos Estévez secured his 29th save by striking out two, sealing the victory for Kansas City.

The Twins struggled offensively, leaving ten men on base and failing to capitalize with runners in scoring position, finishing 0-for-10 in those critical moments.

Garcia broke the deadlock in the third inning with an RBI single, giving the Royals their first run. Jonathan India later added an insurance run in the ninth with another RBI single.

On the other side, Twins starting pitcher Bailey Ober (4-7) managed to pitch six innings, allowing only four hits and one run, but it wasn’t enough to secure a win.

Adam Frazier, playing second base, crossed home plate on India’s hit in the ninth, marking his 30th run of the season. Meanwhile, Twins catcher Matt Jeffers extended his hitting streak to 12 games, going 3 for 4 at the plate with one strikeout.

Looking ahead, Ryan Bergert (1-1) is set to start for the Royals in the series finale against the Twins tomorrow afternoon. The Twins have yet to announce their starting pitcher for the matchup.
