Taylor Swift shared her candid thoughts on Jason Kelce and his wife Kylie during a recent podcast episode.
On August 12, while guesting on the “New Heights” podcast, Swift recounted her first meeting with the couple at a Kansas City Chiefs game in early 2024. The encounter took place in a VIP suite during the AFC Divisional Playoff against the Buffalo Bills.
“Did you know I was told to be on my best behavior?” Jason, 37, asked, prompting laughter from the audience.
Swift responded, “I didn’t know what you were told. But I do remember you telling Kylie, ‘I was just shotgunning beers with the Bills Mafia and I really want to go through one of the fire tables.’ She was like, ‘OK. Can we not do that right now?’”
Swift humorously noted that she had heard Kylie use the same phrase with their four-year-old child, adding, “Meeting you, you’re exactly as I thought you would be. Kylie is exactly as I thought she would be. The realest. The smartest, the coolest. You’re fantastic.”
During that memorable game on January 21, 2024, Jason made headlines by ripping off his shirt and shouting out of the suite window while holding a beer before jumping into the stands. Swift recalled, “I swear to god, Jason, you flew through the window at lightspeed. I love this new world that Travis has shown me. It’s so fun. It’s so exciting.”
Jason, who retired from the NFL last year, married Kylie in April 2018. They are parents to four children: Wyatt, 6; Elliotte, 4; Bennett, 2; and Finnley, just four months old. Swift mentioned on the podcast that she has been baking sourdough bread with the girls and is experimenting with a “funfetti” version because they love everything rainbow.
Reflecting on his shirtless antics, Jason admitted that Kylie was not pleased with his decision. “I don’t think she was happy about it, to be honest with you,” he said in January 2024. He recalled giving her a heads-up before entering the suite, to which she responded, “Jason don’t you dare.”
Jason reminded Kylie of their past when he met her while black-out drunk at a bar, saying, “This is part of the charm. This is part of the Jason Kelce charm.” He insisted he wasn’t seeking permission to remove his shirt.
Kylie later addressed Jason’s behavior on her own podcast, “Not Gonna Lie,” humorously recounting how their daughter Elliotte once asked, “Why are Dad’s boobs out?”
