Tigers-Pirates Game Postponed; Doubleheader Set for Thursday
Severe weather conditions in Michigan led to the postponement of Wednesday's game between the Detroit Tigers and Pittsburgh Pirates. The matchup will now take place on Thursday, with a doubleheader scheduled to accommodate the change.
The first game of the doubleheader is set for 1:10 p.m., while the rescheduled game will follow at 5:40 p.m. Fans holding tickets for the originally scheduled game will be able to use them for the second game of the doubleheader. The Tigers announced that options for ticket exchanges to different games or seats of equal value during the 2025 season will be communicated to fans.
In their previous encounter on Tuesday, the Tigers secured a 7-3 victory over the Pirates, marking a strong start to the three-game series. Looking ahead, the Tigers will face off against the Tampa Bay Rays, while the Pirates are set to play against the Texas Rangers.
On Wednesday, a severe thunderstorm warning was issued for several counties, including Lenawee, Lapeer, Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, Sanilac, St. Clair, Washtenaw, and Wayne, lasting until 10 p.m. The National Weather Service also confirmed a tornado touchdown in Macomb County, marking it as Michigan's 29th confirmed tornado of 2025.
