Empower Field at Mile High Implements Heat Safety Measures for The Weeknd Concert

Jun 20 2025

This Saturday, Empower Field at Mile High will host The Weeknd, drawing thousands of fans eager to experience the Canadian artist's electrifying performance. With temperatures expected to soar, venue officials are taking significant steps to ensure the heat does not overshadow the event.

The Weeknd, known for chart-topping hits like "Blinding Lights" and "Starboy," is set to perform as part of his "After Hours Til Dawn Tour," featuring Playboi Carti. Anticipating a large turnout, officials advise attendees to arrive early, with parking lots opening at 3 p.m. to accommodate the expected influx.

A heat advisory will be in effect across the Denver metro area on Saturday, with temperatures potentially reaching the triple digits. This advisory will commence at 11 a.m. and last until 6 p.m., prompting concert organizers to implement various safety measures.

To address potential heat-related issues, stadium management has arranged for additional medical personnel to be on-site. Expanded medical treatment areas will be established around the venue, and over 30 free water refilling stations will be available throughout the stadium. Attendees can also find water stations outside the east and west entrances while waiting to enter.

Staff members will also benefit from enhanced precautions, including designated break areas equipped with hydration stations to help them cope with the heat.

As concertgoers prepare for an unforgettable night, the focus remains on safety and enjoyment amidst the soaring temperatures.
